Legacy Communities is pleased to announce that it has become the largest corporate supporter of Youth

Leadership DeKalb with its sponsorship of the 2007 Leadership DeKalb’s Golf Classic at East Lake Golf Club. This makes for the third tournament in a row that Legacy Communities has helped to sponsor and marked an unprecedented commitme

nt as Legacy Communities presented Youth Leadership DeKalb with a check for $15,000.

 

Youth Leadership DeKalb is a program designed to develop the leadership skills of young people in DeKalb County so they may confidently become leaders of tomorrow. Celebrating the rich cultural and ethnic diversity within the community, the Youth Leadership DeKalb program focuses on self awareness, understanding others, teamwork, community awareness, responsibility and leadership skills.

 

Youth Leadership DeKalb accepts about 30 high school students each year for the 10-month program. Participants do not pay tuition and the program is solely funded by corporate sponsors, foundations and Leadership DeKalb members.

 

“This level of support from Legacy Communities is invaluable to the Youth Leadership DeKalb program,” said Executive Director Sara Fountain. “We are very grateful to Legacy for working with us for three tournaments in a row.”
